Parameters and their statistical significance for general linear models that predict the individual mean activity levels (swimming (s min−1)) for six species of coral reef fishes tested in this study.
We used backwards model selection using F-tests to compare the AIC of models with and without each predictor variable using the ‘drop1’ function in R. Only the parameter estimates for
the final (best) models are given, although we always kept the main effect of acclimation treatment in place because it was the key variable of interest. Sample sizes represent biologically
independent animals. Statistical significance is indicated in bold (α = 0.05).
