HOW TO Manage Extensions in Safari

1

Tap the share icon
To access your extensions, wait until the
page has finished loading and then tap on the
little share icon at the top right of the Safari
toolbar. It’s the one that looks like a box with
an arrow coming out of the top.

2

Scroll to see
If you swipe down on the list you’ll see
shortcuts for individuals and for apps, options
such as copying, and then a whole bunch of
things you can do. Your list will be different:
it’s based on the apps you have installed.

3

Edit your actions
On iPad, your Safari extensions are called
Actions. Scroll to the bottom of the list and tap
Edit Actions. This will bring up the Actions page
shown here. As you can see, the Actions are
organised into sections.

4

Uncheck unwanted ones
You can remove actions from the Actions
pop-up by switching their on/off buttons, if
they have them. They’ll remain available in the
Edit Actions screen but won’t appear in the list
when you tap the Share icon.

5

Choose your Favourites
Adding an Action to your Favourites
brings it to the top of the list. To add an action
to Favourites, just tap on the green plus icon
next to it. You can rearrange your Action lists
by dragging the handles at the right.

6

Edit your ad-blockers
Removing an item from your Actions list
doesn’t disable the app, so for example if you
want to turn off an advert-blocking extension
altogether you’ll need to do that in Settings >
Safari > Content Blockers.

Genius tip!
Don’t forget about
the aA icon at the very
left of the address bar:
tapping that enables
you to change the
way a particular site
is displayed.

Jargon buster
Extensions are
little helpers that add
features to your web
browser, in this case
Safari. They mostly
come from other apps
you install.
