buoyedbythedurabilityoftheSwift,JazzandCivic.
Whenwelookedatthereliabilityofnewercars(up
toveyearsold),Mitsubishilingeredjustoutsidethe
top 10 in 13thplace,butit faresbetterasitsmodels
mature,withownersofmodelssuchastheASXfamily
SUVreportingfewissues.
Anotherbrandthatscoresbetterforitsoldercars
is Nissan.It wasin 28thplaceforthereliabilityofits
newercars,butthosebetweensixand 15 yearsold
appeartobemoredurable.TheLeafandJukeboth
havea reliabilityratingabove90%.
Thelastsurpriseentranttothetop 10 is AlfaRomeo,
whichwaspartlygivena boostbytheGiulietta’s
relativelystrongreliabilityratingof83.7%.
Attheotherendofthespectrum,thedurabilityof
theRangeRoverSport– it scored94.4%,makingit
thethird-bestlargeandluxurySUV– isn’tenoughto
compensateforthebrand’sotherproblem-prone
models,soLandRoverliesin lastplace.
Thehighproportionoffaultssufferedbya number
ofitsmodelsensuresRenaultis relegatedtothe
bottomoftheleague,too.Peugeotfaredreasonably
wellin ournewercarreliabilitytable,lyingin 18th
placewitha scoreof93.4%,butthehighfaultratesof
the 207 andold 3008 draggedit downhere.The 107
bucksthistrend,though;it’sourmostdependable
citycar,witha scoreof97.8%.
Subarualsoplummetsdownthetable
foroldercars;nosinglemodelstandsout,butowners
reportedhighlevelsoffaultsacrosstherange.
