- kickedoffat theRPSHeadquartersin
Bristolin mid-February.
There’sstillsometimelefttoseeit at
RPSHouse,afterwhichit willthen
embarkona nationwidetourforthe
remainderof theyear.
Forty-threedifferentphotographers
havebeenselectedtoappearin the
exhibition,whichcomefromtheannual
competitionrunbytheRPS.Eachyear,an
opencallis madetophotographersand
image-makersof allages.It hasbeen
heldalmosteveryyearsince1854,the
yearaftertheRPSwasfounded.
In theearlyyears,theexhibition
includedworkfromsomeof theworld’s
mosteminentphotographersincluding
JuliaMargaretCameron,RogerFenton,
EdwardSteichenandPaulStrand.It’s
thereforealwaysa fantasticopportunityto
seeworkfromcurrentphotographers
whoonedaymightbeheldin thesame
kindof regard.
