GIVING SOME LOVE TO THE iMAC

Though Apple last updated the iMac in March
2019 with 8th- and 9th-generation Intel
processors, faster memory, and new Radeon Pro
Vega graphics options, the computer has seen
very few major improvements over the past few
years, with its last major design tweak in 2012,
when the iMac was slimmed down with an ultra-
thin slim-bodied design. Before that, the iMac
hasn’t received a proper image overhaul since
2004, when it moved to its all-in-one all-screen
design. The launch of the iMac Pro also saw
very few cosmetic enhancements, but did
introduce a Space Gray color.

Earlier in March, a reliable Apple insider
took to Twitter to confirm that Apple was
indeed working on a new iMac, and that it
would launch “soon”. CoinX previously leaked
information about the iPhone X and the Mac
Pro, and confirmed that new consumer-level
Mac models would launch in the near future in
a not-so-cryptic tweet. With Apple set to launch
at least one new batch of Macs with Intel
processors before it moves to ARM, we could
see the latest Core i9-9900K processors, and
perhaps even new features like Face ID on the
Mac, 16GB of RAM for base models, and dual
CPU coolers, though these features are simply
speculation with no insider confirmation.
