Batman: Arkham City is basically the DC Universe
version of the 1981 flick Escape from New York:
the powers that be have given up on a huge chunk
of Gotham City and turned it into a high-security
prison for the nastiest crooks. You can glide and
grapple over the roofs of Gotham for the first time
in an Arkham game here, and so Arkham City
captures the fantasy of being the Dark Knight
better than any game before it. Nor is its appeal
limited to action. Arkham City is almost a decade
old now, but there’s rarely been a better Batman
tale told in games, film or print.
