because she thought Celine would leave her forever and that she would be lonely
again. She quickly ran to the door and looked outside. Sadly, she did not see Celine.
She was extremely disappointed.
All of a sudden, all the lights in the living room were turned off. Celine came
out from behind the curtain and exclaimed, “Surprise! Happy Birthday, Veronica!”
Celine was holding a big birthday cake with candles on it. Veronica was surprised
when she saw Celine. She thought that Celine had left her. Veronica cried. Celine
comforted her, assuring her that she would never leave her best friend, especially
on her birthday.
Even though Veronica had a bad temper and liked to mess things up, Celine
still regarded her as her best friend and guided her to overcome all her
weaknesses. Veronica was touched. Both of them hugged each other tightly.
