“Nikki,theCoveringEditorofToday’sQuilter, askedmetodesigna quilt
inspiredbyMoroccantiles– shehadholidayedthererecentlyandtakenmany
photosofthebeautifulandcolourfulwallandfloortiles.I pickeda coupleof
dierentmotifsthatI thoughtwouldworkwellasquiltblocksandusedthem
todrawupa fewquiltdesigns.Intheend,I likedalltheblocksI’ddesigned
anddidn’twanttochoose,soI drewupa rowquilt,whichcontainedeachof
theblocks.Luckily,Nikkilikedthisonebest!It washardtogetthecolour
paletterightasthetilesareofteninstrongprimarycolours,whichcanlook
a bittoo‘posterpaintbox’forquilts.I chosea classicred,whiteandblue
palette,andsoftenedit withanaquabackground.Thesecoloursgivesthe
designa bitmoreofa Scandivibethana Moroccanonebutit is a funand
stylish quilt that I hope you will enjoy making for yourself.”–Jo Avery
