B)oversection1. Holdeverything
uptoa lightsource(againsta window
willdothetrick).Checktheprint
orientationandmakesurethatthe
coverageincludesat leasta inseam
allowanceallaroundandoverlapping
neighbouring sections. Pin in place.6
Foldthefoundationpaperback
alongthelinebetweensection 1
and2 andtrimthefabric a in away
from the fold line.7
Nowtakea pieceoffabric
(StarfishPearl)largeenough
tocoversection2 plusa generous
seamallowance.Placeit rightsides
togetheronthefirstfabric,aligning
it withthetrimmededgeandpinin
place.Turnthefoundationpaperover
andstitchalongthelinebetween
sections1 and2 usingsmallstitches,
securebysewinga fewstitchesbeyond
the beginning and end of the line.8
Turnthefoundationpaperover
andfliptheouterfabricovertolay
flat on the foundation. Press the seam.9

B3.Finally,carefullytrimawayany
excessfabricbeyondtheseam
allowanceonthefoundationtemplate.
Leavethefoundationpaperat this
stageinplaceasit willhelpalignthe
sections when piecing the compass.10

andcheckthateverythingis inthe
rightplacebeforeyoubeginsewing.

sewingtherows together to complete
