Morillas, who,
inspired by the
energy of today’s
teenagers, created the
new Bulgari Omnia
Pink Sapphire fragrance.
“I captured this very bold
spirit by choosing exquisite
raw materials, like pink
pepper, sourced from Reunion Island near
Mauritius. It packs spicy, citrus, and floral aromas into
one small seed. A little reminder to not judge pink
by its colour.”
The fragrance opens with fresh notes of pink
pomelo and pink pepper, leading to delicate floral
frangipani and wild tiare, and finally wrapping up
with white musk. It’s designed to make an
impression. No wonder then, that the names
representing it are those who have made it on
their own terms: Madison Beer, who shot
to fame as a 13-year-old in 2012 when
Justin Bieber tweeted a link of her
covering Etta James’s At Last, and
released her first studio EP in
February; Amanda Steele,
who launched her
successful


makeup vlog
when she was
just 10 years old;
and Margaret Zhang,
who began her career as
a style blogger when she
was 16, and is now a
photographer, model, writer,
stylist, and creative director.
When they talk, their millions
of followers listen.
Morillas created the fragrance over nine months,
tapping into travel experiences in Polynesia and
Tahiti and qualities of the precious pink sapphire,
unique and bright. This sense of individuality comes
through even in the way the perfume is made:
“The flowers aren’t plucked, distilled, or extracted
like they are in traditional perfumery. Instead,
a neutral gas absorbs the bloom’s fragrance, while
leaving the flower intact,” says Morillas. The
technique, known as ‘Headspace’, “preserves
an olfactory moment in time much like
Instagram captures a visual one.” And with
it, the legendary perfumer behind
fragrances like Giorgio Armani Aqua
di Giò, CK One, and Kenzo
Flower has created a fitting
new icon for a new
generation. ■
