A

big occasion calls for an even bigger

celebration. Harper’s Bazaar started the

countdown to its 10th anniversary in India

with the launch of the cofee-table book

Bazaar at Work: The Power List, Women Who

Write Their Own Rules. Featuring 50 remarkable achievers

from diverse ields, the book includes Kiran Mazumdar-

Shaw, Nita Ambani, Ritu Dalmia, Sonam Kapoor, and

Priyanka Chopra, among others. The launch at New

Delhi’s Hyatt Regency began with a thought-provoking

panel discussion with paralympic silver medalist Deepa

Malik, designer Anita Dongre, social activist Chetna Gala

Sinha, actor, producer, and activist Dia Mirza, and author

and entrepreneur Malini Agarwal. Bazaar editor Nonita

Kalra initiated a dialogue on the unique strengths

of women entrepreneurs today. The book was unveiled

by Minister of State for Health and Family Welfare,

Anupriya Patel, and a soul-stirring performance

by Sonam Kalra of The Sufi Gospel Project set the

soundtrack for the evening. Guests were then led

to a private preview of Jimmy Choo’s Fall 2018 eyewear

collection, for which the brand had specially lown down

a craftsman from Italy to demonstrate the precision that

goes into creating each of their glasses. The intimate

gathering segued to dinner and drinks with Bazaar’s

supporters and friends, including Rakesh Thakore, David

Abraham, Madhu Jain, Rohit Gandhi, Rahul Khanna,

William Dalrymple, and Neha Kapur Nayyar.

The venue was elegantly decorated by Marina Home

and guests enjoyed an energetic performance by Afro

Caribbean and Latin jazz music ensemble Los Gatos

managed by The Piano Man Events and Artist

Management Company. Excellent cocktails from Grey

Goose and beer from White Rhino all contributed

to making the evening an astounding success.
