wide-angle lens and a 2MP depth
lens for those snazzy bokeh effects)
and an 8MP selfie camera at the
front. And the impressive spec is
completed by 64GB of internal
storage and a generous 3,580mAh
battery. This could be big this summer.

T3 SAYS: Sony’s new budget blower
brings great specs for a low price.

SONY XPERIA L
£170 (approx.), sony.co.uk

With its latest budget handset, Sony
has made a big statement – literally.
The successor to last year’s Xperia
L3 boasts a whopping 6.2-inch, 21:
display. This screen is cinematically
wide, but it also makes it perfect for
multi-tasking, because you can split
the screen into two separate
windows and run a different app on
each, something the phone handles
with ease thanks to its octa-core
Mediatek MT6762 processor. The
Xperia L4 also offers a wealth of
photography options, with three
cameras round the back (including a
13MP wide-angle lens, a 5MP ultra-

MASTER LOCK BIOMETRIC PADLOCK
£89, masterlock.eu

If you fancy sexing up your garden
shed, here’s something that could’ve
come straight out of a James Bond
movie: a padlock that’s activated by
fingerprint. Master Lock’s latest
device will recognise up to 10
fingerprints, meaning your whole
family – and quite possibly even the
dog – can gain access to the
lawnmower, cricket set or patio chairs
without having to fumble around with
keys or codes. Lights on the lock will
inform you if your fingerprint has
been accepted, or if the battery is
running low, while a keypad will
enable you to gain access via

directional code should things go
awry. To frustrate would-be thieves
even more, the structure of the lock
is as tough as old boots, comprising
a durable, 56mm-wide metal body, a
9mm boron-alloy shackle and a
two-piece all-weather cover.

T3 SAYS: This cutting-edge lock will
leave burglars howling with frustration.

DYSON LIGHTCYCLE MORPH
£499 desk / £649 floor, dyson.co.uk

Not so long ago, just being able to
dim your lights seemed like the
epitome of cool. Technology has
advanced rapidly since then, though,
and Dyson’s new lamp can perform a
wide range of functions designed to
improve your home life and enhance
your wellbeing. Available for the desk
or floor, the Lightcycle Morph is an
app-controlled, manoeuvrable device
that can be used for a number of
purposes, whether that’s helping
with nighttime reading, providing
background ambience or highlighting
a favourite artwork. Every 60
seconds, sensors inside the lamp

will intelligently track the amount of
daylight streaming into the room, the
task you’re doing and even your age
to ensure that you get the optimal
amount of luminance. And it’ll switch
itself off when you walk out, saving
you money on your electricity bill.

T3 SAYS: As smart lamps go, Dyson’s
new device is a leading light.
