In only a year or so, e-scooters have gone from ‘unlikely to be legal in the UK for years’ to ‘about
to become legal in a matter of weeks’. That they weren’t legal before didn’t really stop people

to stash somewhere). They’re a big hit in Europe already (especially in cities with good cycling
infrastructure), and the low price makes them a really useful – and fairly eco-friendly – transport
