L

ove the coverkit from The
World of Cross Stitching
issue 283 (August 2019).
I have just completed the
beautiful needle book with
the butterfly charm. The blue
ribbon provided was quite
short, so I have used a longer
piece of green ribbon instead.
Hope you like it!
Peggy Thomas, via email
Tina: You’ve done a lovely
job with this needle book,
Peggy, and the ribbon
you’ve chosen matches really
well with the leaves of the
sunflowers. It’s so satisfying to
make a practical item that can
be used time and again – I’m
sure those bright colours will
give you a boost every day!

H

i guys at The World of Cross Stitching! I love your
magazine – I subscribe monthly, and love reading about
other people’s creations. I’ve recently undertaken my biggest
project to date (you might have seen my updates on your
Facebook page) of ‘The Antique Map of The World’ by Jane
Greenoff from The Cross Stitch Guild*. I started it in March,
to complete by the end of June for my partner. He really loves
maps and can tell you the capital of a country right away!
At the place we have recently moved into, he doesn’t
have a map poster like he did at his old place, so I thought
I would create him one for our anniversary. We will have
been together for two years, and I can’t wait to give him
this map! Here’s a picture of me holding my completed map
after months of stitching it! It was great, with all the different
browns, greens and blues. I loved and hated doing the border,
and am so glad to have it finished so I can move onto some
of the other projects I have waiting for me – including the kit I
won from you guys a week or two ago!
The map is about to be framed, ready for him to hang
where he’d like in our home. Thanks for the designs in your
magazine, and I hope you like my work!

Hannah: Wow, what a stunning finish, Shannie. I’m sure
your partner is going to be blown away by his beautiful gift.
