ere are two cross stitch
pieces that I recently
finished and framed. Mickey
and Minnie are in a silver
double frame for my eldest
grandson and his wife’s
first wedding anniversary
in September. Their whole
wedding was themed around
the Disney characters. The
other cross stitch is for my
youngest daughter and
her husband for their pearl
wedding anniversary in
October. The flower colours
also reflect their wedding
theme 30 years ago. The kit
came from Nia Cross Stitch*.
I will soon be stitching
another pearl wedding
anniversary design for my
eldest daughter and her
husband, for April next year.
No time to get into mischief!
I very much look forward
to buying and enjoying The
World of Cross Stitching
magazine each month. It’s a
truly wonderful way to fill in
the dark days of winter and a
very portable means of filling
in gaps on holidays. Best
wishes to all on the team.

Emily: You’ve put a lot of
thought and care into these
anniversary gifts, Brenda. I
particularly love the Mickey
and Minnie pair (by Vervaco
available from Maries Cross
Stitch*) – so adorable!

ust thought I’d send a picture of the two ‘Faithful
Friends’ I made from issue 285 (Oct 2019). A friend I
made on holiday has a horse called Jellybean so I thought I’d
make the cushion for her, and I just loved the little goldfish!
Dianne Richards, Hertfordshire
Sue: I love the way you’ve finished these designs, Dianne –
the little floral embellishments on the cushion are so sweet.
H
i WOXS, with all of my heart I want to
thank Jenny Barton, who prepared this
wonderful pattern of my doggie, Pucci! It was
so amusing and exciting to stitch! Thank you!
Camilla Maffiuletti, Italy
Hannah: I’m so pleased to see this adorable
picture of you and Pucci, as well as your
fabulous stitching! If I remember correctly,
this design was created by Jenny in issue 283
(August 2019) to celebrate Pucci’s 16th birthday
- a very special event indeed! Did you end up
making stitchy cupcake toppers as planned? He
looks like a very loveable pooch, Camilla, and
I’m sure he found it amusing to see his own
face in stitches, too! I’m delighted that Jenny
could grant your wish for you.

Perfect
Present
I
stitched this for my
friends for their recent
wedding. The chart
is by Ursula Michael
(available from Lakeside
Needlecraft*) and was
perfect for them, as the
whole wedding had a
seaside/surf theme. I
personalised it slightly
using hand-dyed thread by
KLT Charting for the straps
on the girl’s flip-flops. It
was very well received,
and they can’t wait to
hang it in their home.

Tina: Thank you for
sharing your finished
stitching with us, Gemma
- it’s fabulous! It’s so nice
when you find a design
which exactly fits the
occasion you are stitching
for. You’ve created such
a personal and unique
wedding present which
I’m sure your friends will
cherish for years to come - it’ll be a lovely reminder
of their special wedding
day every time they see it.
