T

his is me holding my version of Kay
Widdowson’s ‘China Dogs’ from issue
276 (Jan 2019), which I completed recently.
It will be a birthday present for my daughter
to complement ‘Fantasy in Blue’, which was
her last birthday gift. I had trouble with the
French knots, so I left some out and I also
adapted the flowers at the bottom. l am
fairly happy with the result.
Heather Byram, Australia
Tina: I think you should be absolutely
delighted with the result, Heather – it
looks stunning! Kay’s designs are always
bursting with colour and fun patterns, so
it’s no wonder they’re a hit. I hope you’ll
also enjoy her sparkling koi design that
appeared in issue 291 (Jan 2020).

I

made this animal matching game for
my little granddaughter, Eliana’s, second
birthday, and put her initials on a box for
her to keep them in. She lives in America,
so I will be taking them over with me in a
couple of months’ time.
I just love cross stitching and keep all

my favourite designs in a folder, so I always
have something good to stitch.
Tina Bennett, Cullingworth,
West Yorkshire
Emily: Designed by Rhona Norrie in issue
284 (September 2019), these animal pairs
will provide hours of fun! Well done, Tina.

What a special gift for Tina’s little

Porcelain pups
Heather left out some of the tricky French knots in
this piece, but the result is still absolutely stunning!

I

thought you might like to
see my latest project for
your Letters page. I love all the
colours of the wildflowers in
this design, and I love the little
butterflies and insects, too.
It’s by Joy Sunday* and called
‘Welcome the Spring’. This
reminds me of my wildflower
patch at the bottom of the
garden, and I have enjoyed
every minute of
stitching this.
Jennifer Moville,
Merseyside
Hannah: It’s a
beautiful design,
Jennifer – full of
the joys of the new
season. Great work!
