spare time to relax! Packed with all
the charm of Helz Cuppleditch’s sweet
illustrations, it’s the ideal project to
indulge in as we ease into summer.
The design is worked primarily
in whole cross stitch with a few
fractionals to add detail in Pepper’s
facial features and the butterfly,
which also uses two French knots.
You’ll find that the backstitch brings
the scene to life and it gives a shaggy
look to Pepper’s strokable fur. There
are six different shades of backstitch
used so pay close attention to the key.
We’ve finished our stitching as
a stretched canvas, to make it easyto stand up or hang on the wall.
Pepper would also look brilliant in
a traditional frame, or sew your
stitching onto a beach bag to get you
in the mood for your own coastal
visits. We can’t think of a more

Meet the designer
Pepper is usually such a playful pup that
I wanted to create a scene where he was
relaxed, so I had the idea of him at the beach
with a rubber ring. Adding the butterfly
reflects his friendly and curious personality.Stitching Time
