“I used to be that

person who constantly

cared about what

others thought of me.

And that’s why I was

always afraid to think

of myself, and do

what I wanted to do.

You know how people

are, they label you as

selfish if you even think

of putting your own

needs before others’.

But I soon realised

that by doing that, I

was doing a disservice

to myself. That’s why

my life’s motto is self

love—I have vowed

to do what’s best for

me, and help myself,

before I do the same

for others. I believe

that by putting myself

first, I can empower

myself. However, that

doesn’t mean that I’m
