- YOUNG
BUTTERFLY
The newly-formed baby butterfly emerges in
all his glory. He will live anywhere from two to six
weeks and will have a completely liquid diet –
water, nectar and the liquid parts of fruit. The
Monarch butterfly is poisonous and can make any
predators who consume him very sick. The ones who
are born over winter months undertake a great
migration, which scientists have been studying
for ages as no one can quite figure out
how they find their direction.
