ROCKS!
Way back before humans had canvas or
paper, they had caves – and the rock surface
inside them serves as a sort of history book for
early mankind. Rock art can be found all over the
world, but here in South Africa, we have an
abundance of it. Here is an example of rock art
that can be found near Giant’s Castle in the
Drakensberg. Caves provide the perfect
canvas for it – sheltered from the
elements, the paintings are
really well preserved.
