Inspiring homes

‘Storage for our
recycling has always
driven me crazy so
I decided if we had
a dedicated unit I
would be happier.
We asked a local
cabinet maker to
create this piece
which we painted
in Farrow & Ball’s
Calamine. We then
added the shelves
for drinks above so
it looks like a fun
cocktail making
area, rather than
ugly bin storage! It
adds a nice hint of
pink to the kitchen.’

The dining area
has lots of little
styled up areas,
that show Hanna’s
personality. ‘The
pegboard was from
Primark, the tray is
from H&M and the
vintage glassware
was a present from
my parents. I like
to mix vintage
with high street.’

A collection of art prints zones the dining area.
When buying frames for pictures you can find great
bargains in unexpected places such as Flying Tiger
Copenhagen, Wilko and Primark

‘The chair in the corner is from an antiques
shop in Suffolk. The cushion is from
La Redoute, and the print is from Ikea. The
smaller ones are from Paperchase’

Dining area
‘Our dining table is the heart of
our home. I had seen a similar one,
but it was out of my price range
so I asked a local carpenter to do
something similar and it came in at
half the price. The legs are painted
in Charcoal by Neptune, which is a
lovely grey shade. The Ghost-style
acrylic chairs are from Bothy Blue. I
love adding personality with artwork,
and these pieces are from various
favourite artists and printmakers
including Jess Wilson, Heath Kane
and Nickie Kelly, but there are also
ones from Ikea and Paperchase
too, to keep costs down.’
