INTERVIEW | Iryna Bershadska

12 AIRBRUSH STEP BY STEP 03/19 E

On my journey along cult Highway 101, which accompanies
the west coast of North America, running through the
states of Washington, Oregon, and fi nally California, I in-
corporated a very special stop. Just short of the multi-mil-
lion metropolis of San Diego, located right on the Pacifi c
Ocean, a town referred to by its inhabitants as ”America ́s
Finest City“, is a little town called Solano Beach. The loca-
tion houses roughly 12‘000 inhabitants and the exotic
sounding name is but a humble little beach town. It’s defi -
nitely worth taking a break here, as the site offers all types
of amenities as well as app. three kilometers of easily ac-
cessed beaches with good possibilities for swimming and
surfi ng. My destination was right where the town begins,
on the aforementioned Highway 101, coming from Los An-
geles.

Moreland Choppers, established right in this little town in
1991, is an institution for bikers. I had an appointment at
this motorcycle shop and admittedly with a fascinating art-
ist, Iryna Bershadska, who applies her airbrush under the
auspices of ”Irene Airbrushing“. She moved to the US from
her home country of the Ukraine at the beginning of 2016

Born in the Ukraine, Iryna Bershadska is a real ray
of sunshine – fi tting for the weather in her new
homeland, California. As could be expected, she
was quite the friendly host for German airbrush

and acrylics artist Georg Huber, who was on the
road across America again in early 2019, as he
stopped off on Highway 101 for an interview with
Iryna.

Always Happy
