In addition to well-known Aero-Color airbrush paints,
there’s now the Schmincke AKADEMIE Acryl Color Ink, a
new fluid acrylic paint from the company Schmincke. This
new produce is an ink that can be used particularly well with
the airbrush. Ink is a pigmented acrylic that can be used for

painting, writing with Schmincke liners, and also – surprisin-
gly enough – for spraying.

There are 36 cadmium-free color hues in non-breakable 50
ml pipette plastic bottles. When it comes to filling airbru-
shes with paint, pipette bottles have proven themselves over
time in the Aero-Color series. As with other airbrush acrylic
paints, you’ll need to give the AKADEMIE Acryl Color inks
a good long shake before using them. The glass ball in the
container is very helpful here.

What makes the acrylic color ink special is the identical pig-
mentation, colors, and numbering as the AKADEMIE Acryl
Color from the tube. The paints dry in a waterproof manner,
but can be left open while working for a long period of time
so as to allow for an ideal brush-airbrush mixing technique.
With a nozzle sized 0.3 mm, the paint can be sprayed wit-
hout needing to be diluted. The paints can also be combined
with the Schmincke Aero-Color and all other Schmincke ac-
rylic paints.

The 50 ml bottle costs app. 4.90 EUR in specialty retail shops.
The special paints silver and gold are a bit more expensive at
5.60 EUR per bottle. A basis set consisting of all 6 color hues
in a practical case is available for app. 34 EUR at retail shops.
