Lighting & Decor – August 2019

pened in 2014, the Lights Fantastic
Pro showroom was developed to
show people there’s a magic to
lighting today. While LED could
be positioned as additional lighting products,
Lights Fantastic Pro doesn’t take that approach.
Instead, the company focuses less on the
specific piece and more on the environment
that the lighting creates.
“We are constantly challenging our clients
and peers to rethink what can be accom-
plished with lighting,” says Cody Chapman,
Marketing and Merchandising Director.
“It’s fitting that this one-of-a-kind LED
showroom wins a 10th annual Showroom
of the Year award because everyone is
beginning to realize just how trans-
formative LED will be to the lighting
industry.”
Although its concept is unique,
Lights Fantastic Pro’s merchandising
approach is what wins the highest
praise.
“The showroom is vignette
after vignette of how LED can be
incorporated in innumerable ways and
it’s truly amazing to walk into the space,”
says Chapman. “During Lightovation, we
have other showrooms come through like
it’s a tourist destination. It’s not your typical
lighting showroom with fixtures hanging
over your head everywhere — it’s an
educational and inspiring experience.” And
with 19,000 square feet of product gallery
space, commercial lighting showrooms and
a lighting concourse, customers are sure to
learn lots.
But even with competition from online
vendors a hard reality — click, click, click
and it’s at your door — Lights Fantastic Pro
prides itself on offering an experience as a
way to set itself apart.
“LED technology is changing at such a
rapid pace that if you aren’t immersed in
that every day, you can’t keep up,” says
Chapman. “Even then it’s tough, but we have more than 50
years in business and such a huge resource base of knowl-
edge we’ve built in that time that we’re ready to tackle those
challenges and help anyone — professional or consumer —
experience the lighting revolution taking place today.”
Yes, professionals benefit from Lights Fantastic Pro’s deep
educational foundation too. The showroom is a member

of numerous design and builder
associations to provide the most
up-to-date lighting education to
professionals as well. Team members
serve as chairs of the Advisory
Committee for local college design
programs and teach college-level
design classes. The showroom also has
outreach programs to numerous design
schools throughout the area to help the
next generation of industry professionals
experience the LED lighting revolution and
rethink how lighting enhances the living
experience.
From the in-store experience to its
digital platforms, Lights Fantastic Pro is
committed to opening clients’ minds about
what’s possible with lighting today.
“We want people to leave our store
feeling inspired to rethink lighting,”
Chapman says. “In seeing these concepts,
our desire is our clients become inspired
to incorporate some of these ideas into
their project and end up with something
truly unique that they can be proud to call
their own.”
As of press time, the exterior renovations
at the Lights Fantastic Dallas location — which will be getting
a Lights Fantastic Pro concept inside — were finishing up and
a massive inventory liquidation was in sight so the team can
bring in new product.
“Lighting has changed in just the few short years since
opening Lights Fantastic Pro in Lewisville,” Chapman explains.
“This new space will be truly amazing to see.”
