Since the laces come in varieties and

from ancient to contemporary times,

the museum, in year 1977, started to

establish a collection of old

costumes. The idea was to exhibit

these laces in the context of fashion.

The museum dedicated to laces

is continuously and passionately

building the collection...being

proud of their heritage of laces,

promoting them with right

context through trade,

exhibitions, art forms etc.

The history of laces dates back

to times in mid-20th century,

Maison du Roi the city’s Grand-

Place, the City of Brussels

owned and exhibited just a few

pieces of Brussels lace so

exclusive and rare...that’s why

an exclusive place completely

dedicated to laces came with

grand, amazing collection, and

truly is the pride of Belgium’s

capital throughout the world.
