COUNTRIES LIVE AND
WORK TOGETHER.A place where people from six countries live and work
together. They are creating an example of perfect
cordial and accommodating and productive living and
working. The governments of these six countries with
assistance from Asian Development Bank (ADB) in
1992, entered into a program of subregional economic
cooperation, designed to enhance economic relations,
implementation of projects in agriculture, energy,
environment, health and human resource development,
information and communication technology, tourism,
transport, transport and trade facilitation, and urban
development.
The Greater Mekong Subregion comprises Cambodia,
the People's Republic of China (PRC, specifically
Yunnan Province and Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous
Region), Lao People's Democratic Republic (Lao PDR),
Myanmar, Thailand, and Viet Nam. It is a trans-national
region of the Mekong River basin in Southeast Asia.
