In May our sports calendar
began with the III FISU
AMERICA CHESS, it took place
from May 4th to 11th, online. In
the third edition, 8 countries
participated: Argentina, Brazil,
Chile, Costa Rica, El Salvador,
Mexico, Dominican Republic and
Venezuela. 174 participants took
part of the event: 96 men 78
women and 21 teams.


The competition developed in a
great way in its entirety, with a
high level of chess, which made
the confrontations attractive
and engaging. In fact, the three
finals, both individual and team,
were broadcast live through the
YouTube channel and Facebook.


On the first days of June (from
1 st to 3rd), we celebrated the IV
FISU AMERICA FORUM CALI



  1. The event was held in
    Colombia in the City of Cali,
    organized by ASCUNDAF
    Colombia in coordination with
    the Javeriana University of
    Cali. This event had a hybrid
    event. There were more than
    250 attendees, who had the
    opportunity to listen to 40
    speakers. The topics were:
    physical activity, legacy,
    sustainability and sports training
    at the university sports. In this
    type of meeting, the speakers
    can share experiences, and
    analyses and in some way
    generate an educational


platform and a work network
that promotes development.

In July, we went to Lima,
Peru, on FeDUP`s land, to
the University of San Ignacio
de Loyola where the FISU
AMERICA 3X3 was held, 21
universities from 8 countries
participated: Argentina, Brazil,
Chile, Colombia, Costa Rica, El
Salvador, Mexico and Peru with
11 universities participating in
the male branch, and 10 in the
female branch. It was the first
time for FeDUP as an event
organizer. 64 games played
and more than 20 hours of live
transmission set up a beautiful
setting to promote university
sports throughout the continent.

The winner for the ladies was
the Pontificia Universidad
Católica de Valparaíso (Chile).
The Paulista University of Brazil
(UPB) was for men.

In August we celebrate the FISU
AMERICA E-SPORTS FIFA 2022
where 7 countries participated:
Argentina, Brazil, Colombia,
Cuba, Mexico, Uruguay and
Venezuela. 18 participants.
5 women and 13 men. More
than a month of competitions,
three main rounds, in which
the participants were divided
into groups and faced each
other. Then they advanced to
instances of direct elimination

until there were two players
left, who played in the final.

In September we celebrate
the International Day of
University Sports and in
addition to encouraging all
member countries to be a part,
we organize FISU AMERICA
UNITED. More than 100
participated and 12 groups were
formed.

Finally, in October: the FISU
AMERICA GAMES Mérida 2022
were held in Mérida, México,
with the participation of 1050
student-athletes from 12
different countries, the second
edition of this competition
that brings together the entire
continent.

The leader for medal ranking
was Mexico, which achieved 182
distinctions, followed by Brazil
with a total of 45 while in third
place is the United States with
66.

In nine stadiums, which were
within the Yucatecan region,
eleven sports disciplines were
developed. The Poliforum
Zamná hosted volleyball and
basketball, while the Carlos
Iturralde Stadium and the
Marista University were the
venues for soccer. The FISU
AMERICA FOOTBALL was
also held there, with the

classification of the University
of Ottawa (CAN) for women and
Universidad Paulita (BRA) for
men.

The Extraordinary General
Assembly of FISU AMERICA
was also held there in the
Autonomous University of
Merida with the participation of
23 NUSF.

December has arrived and we
are already planning what 2023
will be like: strategic dialogue,
FISU AMERICA 3X3, FISU
AMERICA esports and chess and
of course, we will accompany
the participation of our countries
in the Winter Games, in Lake
Placid USA and the Summer
Games in Chengdu, China!
