At the women’s competitions in
basketball this title belonged to
University of Pitesti (ROU) after
they defeated Vasyl Stefanyk
University (UKR). Third place
was taken by Charles University
(CZE), in the decision making
game against National Institute
of Applied Sciences Lyon (FRA),
played at the last day of the
European Universities Games
in Lodz.


Besides the titles of champions,
gold, silver and bronze medals,
the awards for Fair Play
were also given. In the men’s


competition this award was
proudly raised by University
of Göttingen (GER) and in the
women’s competition it stayed
on home grounds, with the team
of University of Lodz (POL).

Awards for All Star Team in
the women’s competition were
given to:

  • Alina Maria Podar from
    University of Pitesti (ROU)

  • Clarisse Legrand from
    National Institute of Applied
    Sciences Lyon (FRA)

    Charles University (CZE)

    • Kseniaa Afanasieva from
      Vasyl Stefanyk Precarpathian
      National University (UKR)
      MVP award in the women’s
      competition was given to Alina
      Maria Podar from University of
      Pitesti (ROU).




All Star Team award in the
men’s competition were
given to: Emre Tanisan and
Kaan Sariaslan from Beykent
University (TUR) and to
Martynas Pocevicius from
Vytautas Magnus University
(LTU). The MVP award went in
the hands of Jakub Jokl from
Masaryk University (CZE).

EUSA and Aveiro, Portugal are
looking forward to organizing
the next EUSA Basketball
event as part of the European
Universities Championships
2023.
