The competition in sport climbing at the European


Universities Games in Lodz, Poland consisted
of of the best 21 males and 15 females,

The Sport climbing competition
started on 28 of July in
Zatoka Sportu with the lead
competitions for both men
and women. The finals took
place in the evening resulting
with Hannah Schubert from
University of Innsbruck
(AUT) winning the first place
among the competitors in the
women’s Lead category. James
Pope from Sheffield Hallam

University (GBR) was the one
that guaranteed the win in the
men’s competition.

Climbers representing the
Sheffield Hallam University
(GBR) was the most successful
in the men’s bouldering
competition, taking the first 3
places and celebrating a total
victory. The gold medal was
won by James Pope, the silver

by Kieran Forrest and the bronze
by Elias Bignold.

In the women’s bouldering
competition, the gold was won
by Celina Schoibl competing for
University of Innsbruck (AUT).
On the second place, winning the
silver medal was Hannah Smith
from University of Edinburgh
(GBR), followed by Florence
Gruenewald from Technical
