BEACH HANDBALL

JULY 23-25

Being present for the first time on the European Universities

Games sports programme, Beach Handball had 68

male and 46 female student athletes, forming a total

number of 11 teams (7 men and 4 women) competing and

shaking the goal net with their shootings for the win.

On the 10th day of competition

at the European Universities

Games in Lodz, at the hot sand

in Geyer’s Garden, the beach

handball women’s final was a

great match to watch, full with

competitive spirit and will to

win the titles of Beach Handball

champions. The crowds were

cheering on top of their lungs,

supporting their favourite teams.

For the bronze medal we had

University of Goettingen (GER)

playing and winning against

Lodz University of Technology

(POL). The final for the 1

and 2 place was played by

University of Zagreb (CRO) and

Karoli Gaspar University of

the Reformed Church (HUN).

The gold medal was won by

University of Zagreb (CRO) and

the silver went in the hands of

Karoli Gaspar University of the

Reformed Church (HUN).

A double victory for University

of Zagreb was celebrated,

having them wining the first

place in the men’s competition.

They played the final match and

fought hard for the gold medal,

against German Sport University
