For seven days the competition
of volleyball was going strong,
which resulted with even
greater and exciting matches
in the finals. In the mens’s
finals we were able to witness
a fantastic game that gave the
first two places of the victory
podium to two universities
from the same country, Gazi
University (TUR) and Beykent
University (TUR). Beykent
University was stronger and
won the match with 3 : 1, taking
the title of European Universities


Champions in Volleyball in
men’s competition.

The bronze went in the hands of
Masaryk University (CZE) after
playing a better game against
Sumy State University (UKR)
wining with result of 3 : 0.

The situation in the women’s
competition was the same,
having the final match played
between universities coming
from the same country, this time
between University of Venice
(ITA) and University of Bologna

(ITA), having University of
Bologna celebrating the victory
and holding the gold medal.
University of Zagreb (CRO)
joined these two universities on
the podium for winners, having
the bronze medal, after a well-
played match against University
of Granada (ESP).

Fair Play awards were handed
out to Sumy State University
(UKR) in men’s competition and
to University of Granada (ESP) in
women’s competition.

Daniel Rimal from Masaryk
University (CZE) won the award
for Most Valuable Player men’s
category while the same prize
in women’s category went in the
hands of Malwina Schonhofer
from Lodz University of
Technology (POL).

EUSA and the city of Braga,
Portugal are looking forward
to organizing the next EUSA
Volleyball event as part of
the European Universities
Championships 2023.
