The second half of the day
included venue – visits of
facilities as the campus and the
dormitories of Lodz University
of Technology, the catering area,
places designated for the NUSA
Offices and accreditation centre
as well as sporting venues as
Geyer Gardens, Skorupki Hall
and Zatoka Sportu, where the
tournaments of kickboxing,
taekwondo, beach sports, 3x3
basketball, badminton, sports
climbing, swimming and water
polo happened. A fruitful Q&A
session wrapped up the first
day of this NUSA Coordination
Meeting.


On Wednesday May 18th, the
attendees started the day with
visiting the monumental EC1
complex, the hosting hall for the
chess competitions, followed
by visits of Malachowskiego
hall, designated for futsal
and basketball competitions,
Lodzianka football pitch, AZS
Lodz tennis courts, Anilana hall
and the dormitories of Lodz
University. During these visits
the NUSA representatives had


the chance to inspect and to get
more detailed information about
the courts and venues.

The second part of venue-
visiting was reserved for the
Minerska football pitch and
the two arenas in designated
for the opening and closing
ceremonies, the Atlas arena
and Sports Arena. While visiting
these arenas the group had the
chance to hear more about the
activities foreseen to happen
during these ceremonies.

Following the prior NUSA
Coordination Meeting in spring,
another one took place during
the European Universities
Games in Lodz, held at the
Institute of Physics of University
of Technology of Lodz, having
representatives of 17 national
university sports associations
(NUSA) and representatives of
the European University Sports
Association (EUSA), attending.

The opening words of this NUSA
Coordination Meeting were
given from Mr Matjaz Pecovnik,
Secretary General of EUSA, who
thanked the representatives
for attending this meeting
and invited them to share any
challenges or questions they
have regarding the time in Lodz,
by far.

Next to greet the attendees
were Mr Adam Roczek,
President of the European
University Sports Association
(EUSA) and Mr Haris Pavletic,
1 st Vice-President of EUSA, both
expressing their gratitude and
happiness, seeing the athletes
and officials, already arriving
and the games having a smooth
start.

In their, addresses both Mr
Pečovnik and Mr Pavletic, invited
the NUSA representatives to
collaborate as much as possible
with the OC and EUSA, to
continue to make the games run
as smoothly as possible and to
assure that everyone is having a
great time.

Representatives of the
Organizational Committee, Mr
Dominik Kowalczyk and Ms
Paula Lesniewska took the
stand, sharing information about
the Opening Ceremony. They
presented the schedule and
location of the transportation
and other details regarding the
march pass and the presence of
the athletes and officials. They
also invited all the attendees
present to encourage their
athletes to be present during
the whole ceremony to witness
the great work that was put in
the spectacle of the ceremony
itself.

EUSA considers NUSA officials,
as a very important partner
in the organisation, as well
as the implementation of the
games, as them being direct
link between the European
Universities Games as a big
multisport event and the
athletes as the main actors,
expressing big gratitude for their
cooperation and support.
