That’s nif-tea!
“My parents were having a clear out when
they gave me a gorgeous vintage tea set
that belonged to my grandmother. After
spending hours on Pinterest looking for
inspiration, i p icked up some small houseplants
from my local garden centre and planted them
in the teacups to place on my new Sainsbury’s
home shelves. i’m so glad i’v e been able
to give my heirloom a new lease of life.”
Nikki Knight via email

Your Home saysWe love your new
shelves, nik ki! the upcycled tea set is a
fab way to repurpose your sentimental
items. Congratulations on a great make.

Off the
shelf
“After adding
a conservatory
to our kitchen,
we blocked up
our original
back door.
i w anted to
leave the top
half as an
alcove, so we
used some
leftover worktop and brackets from eBay to
create some shelves. i t hen styled them with
my favourite collection of charity shop and
auction buys, alongside chopping boards and
faux plants. i h ope you like it!”
Julie Steptoe via email

Your Home saysWhat a fab idea, Julie!
you’ve made a great little storage space
and we love your old-fashioned scales.
Congratulations from the whole team.

A room of one’s own

“i’ve always
dreamt of owning
a breakfast bar,
and with a bit of
space to fill in the
kitchen i t hought
i’d take the
opportunity to make one. tha t very same day i
picked up a cheap second-hand pine sideboard.
We sanded and stained some building timber
for the worktop, changed the handles, removed
one of the doors, painted the unit and a pair of
stools to match. i a m so happy with the result!”
Natacha Chohra via email

Your Home saysthi s breakfast bar is a
complete triumph, nat acha. the dark teal
colour matched with the light wood is so
on trend – we’re very jealous!

“two years into my home renovations, i m et
the most wonderful man. to begin with, Barry
was a complete DiY novice, but after reading
your February issue, Barry made my dreams
come true by turning the spare bedroom into
an office. We went to B&Q and purchased a
worktop for the desk, and the football shirt
is one Barry was presented with some years
ago. i j ust want you to know that Your Home
really does inspire others to have a go!”
Michelle Morris via email

Your Home saysit’ s wonderful to hear from our readers, and we’re so pleased that you
and Barry love the magazine, Michelle. We are loving your guest room transformation,
especially that lovely table lamp! Best of luck with the rest of the home renovations.
