Simon doesn’t mind the pink – he just
lets me get on with it.’
Although they have had to spend more
on the larger furniture, Ellie has saved
money by creating her own art work for the
high walls, and weaving a few family pieces
in with their own things to reduce the cost.
‘I love a good bargain and often pick things
up from sale rooms or charity shops, which
I combine with new furniture,’ says Ellie.
‘I’m drawn to things which are slightly off-
beat and quirky. I want my home to have
an element of fun and a big personality. It
took a few false starts, but now the house
is definitely me.’

The floor-standing mirror
from Fully Furnished is
painted pink and white
to match the wall. A pink
tub chair, bought online,
and HomeSense armchair
fit perfectly under the
sloping attic roof. ‘Getting
the furniture upstairs was
a challenge,’ says Ellie.
‘There are a few chips in
the walls as a result’

Ellie paired two shades of EB Natural paint to create
the stripe effect in the main attic bedroom. The Made
bed is flanked by tables Ellie upcycled from their last
house. The bedside lamps are from Dunelm and the
framed pink poster on the floor is from Super Rural
