b
POUR IT ON
I poured resurfacer
across the first section, doing
my best to distribute it evenly.
b
SPREAD IT OUT
I used a squeegee to
spread the mix across the
entire surface to a depth of
just over 1/8 in. Although I
used the squeegee to push
and pull the mix across the
section, I always finished by
pulling across the sidewalk
in the same direction.
b
HURRY UP!
I continued this process
until I’d coated the entire
walk. Resurfacer has limited
working time. To work fast, I
had a helper mix additional
buckets while I kept pouring
and spreading. Wear a respi-
rator when you mix, pour or
cut concrete.
b
CUT A GROOVE
As the coating began to
harden, I used a mortar rake
to re-form the existing joints
in the concrete. If you leave
a joint filled, you risk cracks
in the future.
