AT-A- GL ANCE GUIDE

Real-life Porridge

There’s a peek behind the locked
doors of Jurby jail on the Isle of Man,
which has just 150 inmates and one
guard to every prisoner. This week
we meet Lorraine (above), who’s
serving three years for knife crime
and is banged up with pal Natalie.

The very first car!

Tracing the history of the car’s
beginnings, this documentary takes
in everything from the earliest known
evidence of dog sleds 9,000 years
ago and the invention of the wheel
to the story of the Benz motorcar.

Top of the pops?

Back in 1886, a murky brown
medicine containing cocaine was
invented and it eventually became
the best-selling soft drink ever! This
documentary takes a look back at
Coca-Cola’s fascinating history and
iconic ads, but we also learn how
the brand is currently in trouble...

New-found families

Davina McCall and Nicky Campbell
revisit the show’s most extraordinary
searches to find out what happened
after the families were reunited. Julie
Roberts may have found her mum
Marion (both above) last year, but
they’ve now been thrown together
on a new mystery quest. Meanwhile,
Christina Barlow travels to Colombia
to meet her birth parents...

Bloomin’ lovely!

Adam Frost visits East Yorkshire’s
stunning Sledmere Gardens, where
he learns how all the flower borders
have been planted with specific
colour schemes in mind. Meanwhile,
Monty Don catches up on his
Summer jobs at Longmeadow...

The truth about pet food

Did you know that Mars makes
more pet products than chocolate?
This documentary goes behind the
scenes of its enormous pet food
factory in Melton Mowbray, which
churns out a whopping one million
pet food pouches every single day!

The nation waved flags, had parties
and cheered as Prince Charles and
his young bride Diana got married at
St Paul’s Cathedral on 29 July 1981.
But it wasn’t a fairy-tale wedding. This
documentary reveals the shocking

story of the seven days that led up
to the TV event, watched by three-
quarters of a billion around the world.
It focuses on the fears and heartbreak
suffered by the bride and groom prior
to making their vows, and features
people who knew Diana well, including
Mary Robertson (whose baby boy
Diana had been nanny to) and Diana’s
cousin Colonel Robert Spencer.
