Q

I have a vertical line on my
forehead between my
eyes. It’s the only line on my skin
that bothers me as it makes me
look grumpy! What can I do to
smooth it out?

A

Our ‘elevens’ lines are a by-product of
repetitive use. Before resorting to
Botox (which I’m inclined to avoid),
I would start by having a clinical treatment to
remove excess dead cells, induce collagen
production and deeply hydrate the area. This
process means that you’re creating thicker
more hydrated skin, which will lift the crease.
Without injectables, we cannot reduce the size
of a line, but we can make it look much better
just by increasing hydration and collagen.
After treatment and using clinical products
that can penetrate beyond the dead layers of
the skin, most of my clients are less
concerned about the issue. Always use PHAs
(polyhydroxy acids) in your home routine as
they are great at hydrating the skin and
increasing thickness. You can also use a
retinol to help build new collagen, but
I would speak to an expert before trying this,
as not everyone is suited to using a retinol. PHOTOGRAPHS: GETTY IMAGES AND SHUTTERSTOCK.
