Q

Although I’m
usually careful
about sunscreen,
the skin on my
décolletage has been
burned a few times
over the years and
now it looks pink and
a bit wrinkly. What
can I do to remedy
the damage that has
been done?

A

There is only so much
that can be done to
correct the damage,
but there are ways to minimise
more damage happening.
Firstly, remember to use a
broad-spectrum UV protector
every single day no matter
what the weather. To restore
some life back into the skin, I
recommend using a clinical
vitamin C serum once or twice
a week and making sure you
top it off with a PHA-based
product. The vitamin C will
help build new collagen,
exfoliate the dead cells, and
work on breaking up the
melanocyte clusters
(pigmentation). PHAs will keep
the skin hydrated and plump,
and reduce oxidative damage.
Then remember to always
protect that area of skin.
