Jane Hallam of innovative menopause

clothing company esteem – no pause provides

some tips for having a relaxing break this summer.

1

HAppiness benefits
Travel helps boost your mood;
wandering around exploring new
places brings benefits to your
mental health as you will be more
open to experiencing new things. And
if you’re going to the coast you’ll do
yourself even more good. I have
mentioned this before, and will again,
but the benefits of being by the sea are
phenomenal! The minerals coming off
the water wash over you, reducing
stress and inducing calm.

2

time to recHArge
I like the irony that pulling the
plug on your electronic devices
will result in a personal
physical and emotional recharge for
you. When sitting by a pool or on the
beach, pick up a book or sit in a
meditative state, staring out to sea.
I can do this for hours! Be present with
your travelling companions and take

the opportunity to reconnect with
them. If you’re travelling alone it’s a
good chance to check in with yourself
and how you’re feeling. Keep off social
media and emails, and actually enjoy
the silence – the sky will not fall in!

deAling witH HeAt
If you get hot flushes and night
sweats, going to a humid
environment may present a
problem. Esteem – No Pause clothing
is created with high-quality wicking
fabrics that absorb the tiniest amount
of perspiration as soon as sweat or
humidity strike, keeping you dry, cool
and comfortable. They also roll up
nicely in luggage, and dry quickly
when washed.

prActicAl pAcking
I always find it’s worth paying
extra for hold luggage, if it’s
not already included in your

flight cost, as it means you can take all
your creature comforts and essentials.
It’s important that you have what you
need to feel good with you when
you’re away. And when it comes to
packing, unless you are responsible for
children on your journey, you can
safely inform travelling companions
that they are doing their own, which
will take the pressure off you!

5

protect your skin
During the menopause your
melanin production will be
reduced, leaving you more at
risk from sun damage, so ensure that
you have a high factor sun cream with
you and apply it regularly. Wherever
you are headed, kick back and enjoy!
