Tricia Cusden, 71, founder of make-up brand Look Fabulous

Forever, shares her beauty tips and must-have products.

MY SUPER 6

All about Tricia...
Life-long make-up junkie, Tricia created Look Fabulous
Forever not only as a business but to lead a movement
celebrating mature beauty. ‘This is a real challenge when
you live in a society where “not looking your age” is the
ultimate compliment. I have made peace with ageing and
have no problem looking in a mirror and accepting myself
just the way I am. I fi nd that incredibly liberating.’

I’ve had acne rosacea for
years and get painful, lumpy
spots. A year ago, I cut out as
much bread, sugar, salt and
chocolate as I could and switched
from meat to oily fi sh for protein

  • the difference in my skin has
    been phenomenal! The spots

It’s so important to keep
moving. I led an almost
sedentary life until the age of 69. Then,
I got myself a personal trainer and an
exercise bike. Over two years everything
improved: my balance, core strength and
aerobic capacity. I also love a walk in the
sunshine and a swim in the summer when
I’m in my house in France.

If forced to
choose just
one
product
from my range, it
would be the Look
Fabulous Forever
Continuous Cover
Foundation (£28,
lookfabulous
forever.com). I have
acne rosacea and
this makes my skin
look blemish free. It
blends on effortlessly
and lasts all day.

My bathing
treat is Molton
Brown
Jasmine &
Sun Rose
Exquisite Bathing
Oil (£40,
moltonbrown.
co.uk). It smells
gorgeous; there’s
nothing quite like a
soak in the tub to
make you feel good and
to ease a hectic lifestyle.

I’m
perfectly happy
getting older and
believe I am allowed
to look and feel beautiful
despite being over 70. I dislike
the anti-ageing rhetoric
prevalent in most of the beauty
industry. To me, it’s important
to challenge perceptions
and to encourage older
women to embrace
ageing.

L’Oreal Serie
Expert Silver
Shampoo
(£12.90,
lookfantastic
com) is my hair
hero. Designed
for grey and
white hair, it
ensures locks
stays a lovely
shiny silver
thanks to the
magnesium,
which neutralises
brassy tones that
can build up
over time.
