Amethyst drops reinvent a trio of Bulgari’s signature Serpenti timepieces

Bulgari has refreshed three iconic Serpenti watches with a single stone: amethyst. The purple gem has

long been associated with trust, intuition and spirituality – and has been worn for protection and to calm

the mind. Used by the Egyptians from as early as 4000 B.C., purple amethyst has stood also for power. In

ancient Rome and Greece, it decorated the accessories of royalty – crowns, scepters and rings.

The Serpenti Misteriosi Bangle, first introduced in 2016, is set with baguette-cut amethysts, which form the “scales”.

Pear-shaped stones represent the “eyes”. The 2009-born Serpenti Scaglie, meanwhile, boasts a mother-of-pearl dial and

126 amethysts – with buff-cut stones set in rose gold, contrasting with brilliant diamonds. Finally, the three-year-old

Serpenti Incantati features a rose gold case set with diamonds and 33 amethysts, as well as a matching alligator strap.
