back my fellow tone-seekers! In this
column, I will be heading down a very
specific avenue, one that I do mention time to time when I am reviewing
pedals for Guitar Interactive.

In this edition I want to look at bass distortion and a method we can utilise
to create big articulate sounds that don’t get lost ‘in the mix’ the minute we
stamp on a drive pedal.

This column is based on personal preference but also a fair amount of
experience over the years in creating bass tones that sound great on stage as
well as recorded. I hope that it will help and provide a basis for your own
experiments in low-end girth!

The method I am demonstrating is not new by any means and certainly tips
that I have picked up in conversation with some of my favourite worldwide
stars have driven my own experimentation. »
