Binomial Name: Xenus cinereus
The main habitat of the Terek Sandpiper is Siberia. Like the waterfowl of the same speciesin winter, they also come to Bangladesh as migratory birds. The Terek Sandpiper is a
common migratory bird of Bangladesh. In winter, Barisal, Chittagong, and Khulna divisionsusually roam in small flocks on beach sand, silt, mangrove forests, and salt lands. They
eat by running on the beach and putting their lips in the water. Their favourite foods areaquatic insects and their larvae, tiny snails, shrimp, and spiders. It nests in small trees and
shrubs on the ground near water in Siberia during the May to July breeding season.
