Grey-headed Lapwing
Binomial Name: Vanellus cinereus
The Grey-headed Lapwing is a common migratory bird in Bangladesh. The bird's originalhabitat is northeastern China, Russia and neighbouring areas of Japan. Most migrate south
during winter, but some remain in their original habitat. In winter, it is seen in small groupsin fallow lands, paddy fields, and damp pastures all over our country. They walk in these
places and eat earthworms, snails, and insects. During the breeding season of May-June,they make their nests in the meadows next to water bodies or in damp paddy fields.
