Black-headed Ibis
Binomial Name: Threskiornis melanocephalus
The Black-headed Ibis is a rare bird in Bangladesh. There is not much information aboutwhether the nomadic bird is a resident or migratory bird in Bangladesh. In the winter, they
roam in the coastal lagoons, swamps, rivers, floodplains, paddy fields, extensive marsh,
mud beds, mangrove forests, tidal creeks of Barisal, Chittagong, Khulna, and Sylhetdivisions. They search for food by dipping their beaks in mud and shallow water. Their diet
includes fish, frogs, snails, earthworms, aquatic insects, and plants.
