Grey-backed Shrike
Binomial Name: Lanius tephronotus
The Grey-backed Shrike is native to the Himalayan and Tibetan regions. In severe winters,
when the temperature in those regions drops to freezing point, they come to our country.The Grey-backed Shrike is an uncommon migratory bird of Bangladesh. They usually roam
solitary in small bushes, around farmland, or in fruit orchards as winter habitats. Searchesfor food by descending to the ground from small trees in the bush. The food list includes
grasshoppers, beetles, small birds, lizards, and mice.
