Large Woodshrike
Binomial Name: Tephrodornis gularis
The Large Woodshrike is a commonresident insect-hunting bird of Bangladesh.
This small bird can also sing a beautifulsong in a high voice with a sweet tone.
Usually roams in pairs or isolated flocks inevergreen forests and mangrove forests of
Chittagong, Dhaka, Khulna, and Sylhet
divisions of Bangladesh. It flies from onetree to another and eats by knocking
branches and leaves. Food includesinsects, moths, grasshoppers, and
caterpillars. During the breeding season
from December to June, they make a neston the tree branches with a web of spiders,
roots, grass, creepers, leaves, and layeggs.
