Common Woodshrike
Binomial Name: Tephrodomis
pondicerianus
The Common Woodshrike is a commonresident insect-hunting bird of Bangladesh.
Some call them songbirds because theycan sing in a sweet voice. It usually roams
in pairs or small groups in evergreen
forests, deciduous forests, or mangroveforests of Chittagong, Dhaka, Khulna,
Rajshahi, and Sylhet divisions ofBangladesh. It flies from one branch to
another and eats food from the tree's bark.
There are many types of insects on thefood list. During the breeding season from
January to August, they make nests ofcobwebs and dry leaves on tree branches
and lay eggs.
