Small Minivet
Binomial Name: Pericrocotus cinnamomeus
The Small Minivet is a common resident bird of Bangladesh. Not only in the Sundarban, itcan also be seen everywhere in the country. Small Minivet is quite a shy bird, rarely found
in local or open areas. Roams in jungles, forest edges, gardens, rural forests, and cultivatedlands. Usually travels in pairs or small flocks. It flies from one tree to another and searches
for prey from leaf to leaf. Their diet consists of flies, caterpillars, and other insects and theirlarvae. The breeding period is from February to October. At this time, they make a nest in
the split branches of the tree and lay eggs.
