Binomial Name: Pericrocotus flammeus
The Scarlet Minivet is a common resident bird of Bangladesh. But the bird is not seeneverywhere. They usually roam in pairs or flocks in mangrove forests, including most natural
forests. Flies from branch to branch in the forest canopy and searches for prey in leaf gaps.Insects are their favorite food. The eggs are laid in nests made of lichen and cobwebs
during the breeding season from February to September.
